Affordable Therapy

Why is low-cost therapy hard to find?

Finding affordable therapy is a challenge. Using your insurance, you might have to contact 20 to 30 therapists to discover they are full and have a months-long waiting list. When you find someone to use your insurance, the co-pay can be as much as a full-price session. Even so-called low-cost counseling options can run $50 to $75. That’s just the cost, let alone the therapist, to connect to you and help you solve your problems. That is why we have created an affordable counseling program here at Richer Life Counseling. Our low-cost therapy sessions are only $35; we accept cash, card, and even FSA/HSA payment.

This low-cost therapy program is how our practice gives back to the community. The program comprises graduate-level student therapists who work closely with AAMFT-approved supervisors to help clients of all backgrounds best. Services our program works with are couples counseling, anxiety, career decisions, child behavior problems, communication problems, grief & coping skills, depression, parenting skills, relationships issues, LGBTAQI+ affirmative therapy, sexual issues that include pornography/sex addiction, kink awareness, polyamoury, along with many other issues.

Our graduate-level student therapists provide affordable therapy, both in person and online, every day of the week. Our therapists receive in-depth training and work with seasoned therapists who can provide the best quality care.

Jumping into therapy with a graduate-level student therapist can be an affordable way to create the change you want. Research has shown that if you like and trust your therapist and your therapist can understand your problem, you will achieve the goals you set for yourself. Our students have reported that the support from our supervisors and other licensed therapists on site has prepared them to work with clients who walk into our office.

When you work with a therapist, you will see your life differently! You will be able to see the behavior patterns in yourself and others in your life. Even after the first session, a therapist will hear you, and you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders.

Do student interns really know what they are doing?

Most graduate-level programs end with a student internship. This means that our student therapists have spent hundreds of hours in the classroom learning about all the major theories about therapy and understanding human development through role plays and onsite clinics. Our student therapists meet weekly with an AAMFT-approved supervisor, who helps them understand your case and brings years of experience to your problems. This low-cost therapy program gets you multiple therapists focused on helping you.

Many licensed therapists on our site will still have past clients they saw as students reach out and book sessions years later because the therapy was so helpful at that point in their life.

How many low-cost counseling sessions do I need?

Each session costs $35, and you and your therapist will determine the number of sessions you need. Some clients will come in weekly for six weeks and then be done, while others will visit bi-weekly for a few months. No one’s journey is the same, but you control how often you want to come in.
