Hi there, I am Alex Estrada, a Cincial Professional Counselor Intern.
My Path to Becoming a Therapist.
From a young age, I was drawn to understanding people’s stories and the ways they find meaning, healing, and resilience. My bilingual and bicultural background gave me firsthand insight into how language and culture shape identity and relationships. I often noticed how people struggled when they couldn’t fully express themselves or when cultural nuances were overlooked, and I felt called to create spaces where those experiences could be honored. My path toward becoming a therapist evolved from a desire to help individuals and couples feel seen and understood. In my training and practice, I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and couples, and I have found myself continually inspired by the strength and growth people demonstrate when they are met with empathy and cultural affirmation. I have also been drawn to mindfulness practices, as they enable me to bring authenticity and reflection into the room, qualities that help clients feel safe and supported. I became a therapist because I believe in the power of relationships to foster healing. My goal is to provide a space where people can reclaim their voice, embrace their resilience, and move toward lives of connection, meaning, and wholeness.
How I View Working with Clients
Ultimately, I see change as empowering and liberating. It is the process of becoming more authentic, more connected, and more aligned with one’s values. My goal is to support clients in cultivating lasting growth that strengthens both their sense of self and their relationships with others. I believe change is a collaborative process that emerges through authentic connection, reflection, and the willingness to grow. My role as a therapist is not to direct change but to walk alongside clients as they uncover their strengths, values, and inner resources. I view each client as the expert of their own story, and I strive to create a safe and supportive space where exploration feels possible.
I am a bilingual therapist (English/Spanish) specializing in supporting individuals, couples, and families through a compassionate and person-centered approach. My work focuses on creating safe and affirming spaces for clients to explore their challenges while drawing on their strengths and cultural values. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families, helping them navigate developmental challenges, school-related stressors, and family dynamics. I also support couples in enhancing communication and connection, particularly within bilingual and multicultural relationships. My clinical interests include sexual health and addiction, where I apply a sex-positive and culturally sensitive lens to reduce stigma and promote healing. I am committed to ongoing self-reflection and mindfulness practices, which allow me to bring authenticity, presence, and empathy into each therapeutic relationship. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients feel heard, empowered, and supported as they navigate life transitions, relational challenges, and personal growth.
